Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) are immunosuppressive retroviruses commonly affecting cats. As the most common cause of cancer in cats, Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) may lead to severe illness from various syndromes including anemia, leukemia, kidney disease, and lymphosarcoma, as well as from secondary infections caused by common bacteria, viruses, protozoa, and fungi. Although Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) also disrupts the immune system, many FIV-positive cats may not develop clinical symptoms until an infection challenges their immune system. 

Although there is currently no definitive cure for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) and Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV), early diagnosis, proper care, and immune support may significantly improve the prognosis of these infections.
